Reading Music : Eighth and Sixteenth Notes (quaver and semiquaver)
There are many possible combinations of eighths (quavers) and sixteenths (semiquavers) that we can use. It is necessary to learn how to identify these formulas. The following table shows some of the most common combinations. The sixteenth notes (semiquavers) below the written notes indicate the division into four equal parts of the bar:
