J. S. Bach - Luth Music

These articles are dedicated to the excellent Paraguayan guitarist Berta Rojas, who encouraged us to write them.
Bach wrote several works for lute or lute-harpsichord. These works are now played on baroque lute and guitar. In these pages we will analyse these works, starting with the preludes and fugues:
- Suite in E minor BWV 996 for lute-harpsichord.
- Suite in G minor BWV 995. The composer's own transcription for lute of the Suite BWV 1011 for cello.
- Partita in C minor BWV 997. There is a version for lute-harpsichord and a transcription for a lute that is not by Bach.
- Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in Eb Major BWV 998 for luth and lute-harpsichord.
- Prelude in C minor BWV 999 for luth.
- Fugue in G minor BWV 1000 for luth
- Partita in E major BWV 1006a for lute-harpsichord. Transcription of the Violin Suite BWV 1006.
